There are cute mobiles out there designed clearly for the parent’s taste (or to match the nursery) but not for the baby. Small babies like bright colors and black and white patterns that they can clearly see. They like sounds and movements. My son had the earlier version of this mobile that is now out of production. My daughter got this one and she LOVES IT! She can spend easily half an hour watching it, if we let her. She is very excited, moves her arms and feet, and cooes while watching it. Very engaging. We had no technical problem with it and the battery has been running for over 4 months now with daily use and no replacement.

Overall, I think the toy is great but what is the purpose of the belly button’s blue light? It bothers my sons eyes when he looks at the toy. It is like shooting a laser into his eyes. I’ve covered up the light by putting a tshirt on the doll but it really took away from the cuteness factor of the doll. I just can’t figure out what is the point of that light.

I quite enjoyed this one. Normally I am not a big fan of constant point-of-view switches, but these are done smoothly and sensibly; not disjointing at all. The characters are great fun to follow along, and the story had me wanting to jump right back in to see what happened next.

Tiny Love Take Along

Who would have thought a book about teenagers and vampires could be such fun for grownups too! Stephanie Meyer has created a whole new world where humans, vampires, and werewolves all have feelings and even learn how to get along (some of the time anyway). I felt like Twilight, Book 1, was the best of the series, with great character development and a well thought out plot. Ms. Meyers deserves all the accolades she receives, and I look forward to what she does next.
